Use open-source soft-phones / firmware

• Unfortunately, most open-source soft-phones also have poor protocol stacks

• • But at least you can:
  • • Audit the code
    • Report problems to the maintainers

• As far as I’m aware, there is no open source firmware for hard-phones

• • Most are vendor-proprietary
